To ensure the series' success, we need:
- Spanish speakers to present the material (we have powerpoint presentations prepared)
- Babysitters for children that come along with mom (you don't have to speak Spanish)
- a few miscellaneous helpers for organizational purposes
The charlas will take place at a community center in Fells Point on Saturday mornings from 9:30-12. You can volunteer to present as little as 30 minutes of material at a time. I would love to have you present on multiple days. In addition to the time you will spend presenting, I would like to have one large group meeting with all our volunteers and then a shorter meeting to review the material a few days before you present.
We're looking forward to hearing from Latinos, Peace Corps volunteers, those who have picked Spanish up over the years, those who want to become involved in the community. Feel free to share with non-Bienestar members.
This is intended to be a low-commitment, fun and practical way to engage with the Latino community in Baltimore.
